UncategorizedDUAL|MULTI PURPOSE PIECES
It’s a great idea to have a curated closet where staple pieces can be mixed and matched and also have multiple purposes. You’ll never run out of things to wear but you’ll also benefit from eliminating bulk and closet overkill, you know when you forget that you even have certain items cuz your closet is overflowing with SO MUCH CRAP!
A cape can double as a scarf!
A dress can double as a skirt!
A shirt can double as a dress!
A dress can double as a shirt!
Be creative use your imagination, mix it up. And as I always say don’t be afraid to mix prints! The rule is smaller print mixes well with a larger print but who the heck cares! If Large with Large looks good then DO IT! If small with small looks good then DO IT!!!!
The floral print skirt is actually a dress underneath the MUSE sweatshirt.
The cape was used as a scarf.
The gray shirt dress can be worn either way. Long enough to be a dress short enough to be a shirt. You choose!

Neon colors have a place in every season infinitely. It can be incorporated into a look subtly or boldly. Ironically even when done subtly it still strikes as a bold accent. For those who don’t have the confidence to plunge into an entire neon look adding subtle hints such as accessories would be a easier route.

I can do either & be perfectly fine although my favorite color is black. The stone cold dense edge of black is breathtaking to me which is why I prefer it. Is neon a trend of Summer 2016 you ask? Hmmm, I can’t accurately answer that because me & trends…….

This was a random look as most of my looks are. Got the classic Nikes for an Erykah Badu concert but didn’t wind up wearing them at all which is why I don’t shop specifically for events or outings. I do better with random. I love piecing together looks on accident.

These murals…when I blog it’s, yep you guessed it, never planned. I don’t wake up, get dressed & set out to blog. My blogging is just as random & impromptu as the rest of my life…UNPLANNED. As I drive through my amazing city (Chicago) these super beyond dope expressions of art find me & I’m forced to engage. What better way to become intimate with such eyegasms than to photograph myself against it & become unified with it?

SummertimeChi…we have some pain stakingly cold Winters but our Summers in Chicago are just as hot as the Winters are cold. This day was excruciatingly hot, the kind of heat that snatches your breath when it hits you. I had to wear my hair straight back with minimal makeup. I opted for a bold lip to mirror the boldness of the pops of neon.

The fit…a simple pair of faux leather black shorts paired with a crushed velvet mock neck sleeveless crop top, under an ex boyfriends old denim Guess shirt that I ripped the sleeves off of. I added the kicks & a clutch that I did a DIY on by adding the gold chain. Threw on a pair of circular white neon teal mirrored specs. A vintage gold Casio watch & a bold red lip.

UncategorizedBlack & Hints Of This & That
UncategorizedA minimal staple piece of clothing combined with accessories that demand a second A glance is always a winner. Think metallics, metals, statement jewelry, hats & bags that say stuff (literally). But don’t over do it. Rule of thumb is to remove one accessory before leaving out. But honestly in my book there are no rules in Style, fashion, yes but when you have style you do whatever the heck you wanna do & own it! This black high low t•shirt dress pairs perfectly with these accessories. I added this camel hat which is my FAVORITE accessory right now, A bold statement neck piece that incorporates black jewels & heavy metals, a denim bag which doubles as a clutch with wording that brings about an interesting aesthetic & a pair of pointy toe flat silver metallic loafers. Because the shirt dress has high rise slits on the sides I added a pair of cut off faux leather faced leggings that aren’t visible on the photos I do live in the Windy City afterall, not trying to flash anyone. I played around with my lips by doing a heavy black liner & using a bright red to bring about an ombre affect.

Stuck In the Middle With Mute
UncategorizedI’ve gained a deeply saturated love for muted tones. Don’t worry I’m still completely obsessed with black. Eclectic is my aesthetic. Mixing pieces that aren’t the norm. To pair a structured hat with a little “grey” dress & an over sized “90’s” style jacket & sneaker wedges is what some may view as a stretch but I fell in love with what I saw in the mirror. I added this stark white book bag with rose gold zipper detailing & a long faux herringbone gold chain. Keeping with the muted tones I opted for a dark lip which ties the entire look together. Wondering why I seem to have combined all four seasons in one look? I’m a Chicagoan which should pretty much explain it but in deeper detail our weather tends to be all over the place sometimes. Right now we’re caught in between a hot Summer & a rich Fall hence the tones & the leg exposure.

UncategorizedI don’t have a set “style” I cannot & will not ever be placed in a box. It may always be difficult to shop for gifts for me as my taste is everchanging. There is no constant to my day to day look. How I feel is often how I dress. Bargain shopping makes this all the more enjoyable. I got this entire look for less than $80. I am a self proclaimed hippie…I live freely through my wardrobe. Life can box you up sometimes I express myself through dressing. I do not ever take into consideration the thoughts of another when I look in the mirror, I get dressed & if I like what I see, I set out for my day…
